Capture your pet’s personality, or honor a dear pet who has passed away, or a memorable place. Surprise a friend or family member with a unique watercolor.

JJ Hawkins uses your photographs as the portrait reference. With love for animals she tries to express this love with detail and realism in her paintings. JJ is currently accepting commissioned projects.

All paintings are done in watercolor on Arches® 140lb cold-press, acid-free top quality watercolor paper, with top quality paint. Signed by me, the artist.

Your photographs: Email a high-resolution digital image - the clearest and best photo will result in a better painting. You are welcome to send more than one image to be used for reference of the subject. Providing more than one photo, gives me the opportunity to study the subject from many different perspectives.

Before you order a commission:
  • Look at my art online for representations of my stylistic range and capabilities.
  • I will not "emulate" another artist's style, so I paint pretty much what ever I think is needed to get the image and feel accurate, and make the piece a professional, appealing, work of art in it's own right.
After you order a commission:
Email the following photos and information:
  • What you have ordered: size.
  • Your contact information: including name, shipping address and phone number.
  • Attach your photograph in .jpg format, do not compress when attaching, be sure your image is in focus with the correct coloring, my artistic interpretation is based on what you provide me to work with.
  • Thank you for supporting the arts.
